Winter, Snow Sporto Boots

Sporto boots for the Snow

With the weather taking a definite turn for the worst here in the UK, sporto boots and winter boots are a real consideration for many (and the rest of Europe, with countries such as Poland currently experiencing -35 and -40 degree temperatures). How best can people protect their bodies, and their feet, from the terribly icy conditions thwarting our daily lives. As a relatively young, healthy, male, the snow is not something that scares me, but still, it’s an unfortunate issue that needs to be dealt with. As those living in the UK will understand, a bit of snow brings the country to a standstill, and this year, although better, has still caused some major issues. However, this article is here for YOU, the sporto boot lover, to remind you to look after YOURSELF in these snowy and icy conditions. It doesn’t matter how young, old, healthy or unhealthy you are, falling over due to the snow and ice means you’ll land hard, and painfully, on concrete, the most unforgiving of surfaces. This will likely result in a lengthy trip to accident and emergency, and probably an x-ray of your afflicted area. So, at Sporto Boots we feel it’s our duty to offer you as much protection as physically possible, as we can’t be there to hold your hand!

Clearly, the safest option available is simply, staying INSIDE! If you stay inside, you can’t fall over in the snow, and hurt yourself, and you stay happy. (Simple terms at least.) But if you really do need to brave the snow, we’ve got some tips for you.

Winter Snow Boot Safety

1. Get kitted out in a brand new pair of Sporto Boots as demonstrated here by Mara Balagtas, (her twitter @marafili & Instagr.am). Thanks very much to her, this is a fantastically beautiful sporto boots action photo with fresh snow!

2. Walk slowly, deliberately, and carefully. Rather than rushing around like a madman/woman to get to your destination, take a deep breath, be sure of your footing, and proceed with caution. Boots with good grip such as Sportos are the optimum choice, I also can vouch for Timbaland boots, although expensive, they are grippy and good in winter conditions.

3. Wear thick socks, and tuck them into your Sporto Boots – although it sounds obvious, it’s worth noting: Thick, warm socks will insulate and warm your ankles and feet, therefore greatly reducing the risk of any injury if you DO have a slight slip or a ‘moment’. Again, it may sound silly, but this warmth and protection could be the difference between no pain at all, and a slight ankle sprain. If you don’t know, our ligaments are terribly inelastic and once damaged, they never return to their best – so anything that you can possibly do to avoid damage to your ankles is a step worth taking.

4. Do your sportos up ALL THE WAY. E.g. if you can lace around the ankle, please do. This will again offer even more support to your feet and ankle joint, ensuring optimum safety.

5. Leave yourself enough time! Related to point 2, how can you walk slowly and carefully if you’re stressing because you’re going to be late?! Take your time and protect your body, you’ll thank yourself in the long run that much is certain! It’s snow, it’ll pass!

6. Finally, consider our older article on Sporto Boots for Cold Weather which looks at some of our favourite boots, fur lined, waterproof sporto goodness!

Now, our searches for snow boots and winter sporto boots have unfortunately been pretty difficult, as you know (being based in the UK) but we’ll always continue to supply as much good sporto boot information to you guys (and girls) as possible. Don’t forget to get in touch if you need anything or have any suggestions! Don’t forget, follow us on @sporto-boots for all the latest on Twitter!

Rain Shoes and Sporto Rain Boots

Buy Sporto Rain Boots

An emerging trend especially (it seems) in America is for companies to introduce new rain shoes or rain boots to their existing shoe lines. For example, we know Sporto make fantastic rain shoes and rain boots, though they are usually known as the iconic Sporto duck boots, other companies have also been manufacturing rain shoes for a while now, one of the best known brands being Crocs (those horrible rubber, holey, trampy look shoes, that have won many admirers for their high levels of shoe comfort) but even Ed Hardy, the hip hop, fashionista brand have their own rain shoe booties as they term them. Rain shoes obviously all differ by brand and type, but often feature a similar design – a moulded composite top layer which goes right down to the sole of the shoe, thereby encasing the wearers foot snugly and comfortably, ensuring that they serve their essential boot purpose – that is, to keep the wearers feet dry. The terms sporto rain boots and rain shoes can be easily interchanged, because if you think of the fully encased shoe wrapping around the foot, then it’s obvious to see why they are known as rain boots. However, what each person knows them as will vary, obviously Sporto fans will have thought upon reading this article – wait, aren’t these just sporto duck boots?! Clever reader, we would argue that you are in fact, correct.

The Ed Hardy rain shoe bootie - not like a sporto rain shoe!

However, don’t forget that these days, nothing, at all, is safe from ruin by major corporations or tacky, tasteless celebrities with more money than sense. Money cannot by style as they say, but due to the demand, often rain shoes are remade into ghastly new designs that feature the same original rain shoe or rain boot setting. At what point does the manufacturer focus on style over substance, or indeed style over practicality. If you have a rain shoe that doesn’t do its job of being waterproof, what’s the point in it? Still, people often rave about how great rain shoes look, and the need to be stylish will unfortunately never be overlooked.

Rain shoes are simply temperate and wet weather shoes or boots that are made for soggy or muddy conditions, with the aim of keeping the wearers feet dry. They are NOT the same as winter or snow shoes, as these kinds of boots and Sporto shoes offer extensive grip on the soles to give the wearer safety when required on treacherous terrain.

So if you’re looking to purchase rain shoes or rain boots online, often it is better to simply search for rain shoes, as many companies offer specific sections of their websites devoted to rain shoes. They may not be all of the high quality offered by Sporto, but you will find the type of shoes you’re looking for nonetheless.

Sporto Duck Boots, Rain Boots, Opportunity Cost

Sporto Duck Boots, Rain Boots

An important consideration for any avid boot purchaser or fan is which type of sporto rain boots or duck boots are you going to buy? That aside, how do you know if these styles of duck boots are the best boots for you and your situation? It may be the case that (shock horror) wellington boots or farm boots might be more appropriate than sporto duck boots or rain boots – it depends (as with everything) on your circumstances and what provides you with the value. Opportunity cost is an economic way of considering the situation, and opportunity cost is defined as the ‘next best thing foregone’. E.G. You have just purchased a beautiful pair of fresh new pristine sporto duck boots for women. The opportunity cost is what you could have purchased up to the same value that is different – perhaps some sporto rain boots for women, or some other duck boots. Or perhaps some womens duck boots but of a brand other than sporto. As you will know from considering different types of boots previously, there are literally hundreds of thousands of boots for sale by various brands, so even though Sporto duck boots carry a name you can trust, it still could be worth investigating other options (we definitely prefer sporto boots, especially duck boots for women).

See, if you think about it, buying anything results in an opportunity cost, the cost that would have been incurred if different rain boots or items were purchased. In the UK, duck boots for women usually retail for £60-£100. Obviously however, you can spend as much or as little as you’d like on your sporto duck boots. We’d recommend spending more rather than less, especially when buying women’s boots! Women can always tell the difference in quality so if you’re buying sporto duck boots as a gift or present for the important woman in your life, don’t shoot yourself in the boot (foot) and buy a cheap brand or pair. She’ll appreciate it if you invest in a nice pair of womens sporto duck boots, trust us! It’ll save you the earache later on. Click for more on buying women’s sporto boots.

Opportunity Cost Cartoon

One positive that traditional ‘welly’ boots have going for them these days is the simply amazing range of wacky prints and colours that are afforded by many high street boot brands. It’s true, you can get these kind of varying designs with waterproof Sporto boots, but that’s not to say that Sporto’s are not amazing boots that have fantastic designs! The range, especially of women’s duck boots is excellent from Sporto, but the really picky amongst you may have slight difficulties. I tend to prefer the simple plain colour sporto duck boots which show off the sporto quality, rather than a gaudy design which is messy to the eye and messy to the foot wearing it! Anyway, that was a short lesson in economic cost and sporto duck boots for you, and your women, to consider!

Discount Voucher Codes for Sporto Boots

Discount codes for Sporto Boots

I’ve actually been lamenting writing this discount code article for a while now, because there are thousands of voucher code or discount code websites out there, and unfortunately, 98% of them are complete crap. Even the ‘better quality’ ones fail often, and simply put, it doesn’t matter what you search for, because every ‘brand + discount code’ or ‘brand + coupon’ under the sun has already been created, and consequently spidered by the search engines. All of these voucher sites contain cookies, so that once you’ve visited a discount site, even if it was of no value at all, you’ll probably have picked up the discount code websites affiliate link and any purchases you do finally make will pay a small commission to these horrible wastes of web space. Don’t get me wrong, I like a bargain as much as the next discount scavenger, but voucher code sites often ‘take the piss’.

However, I thought therefore, that a good post, or litmus test perhaps would be to consider various discount code and voucher code sites in the hope of finding a code for our favourite, the beautiful Sporto Boots. And it was a challenge that quickly became difficult. Flicking through the pages on Google, thankfully (and for perhaps the first time ever), there were not hundreds of ‘sporto boots discount codes’ screaming me in the face from sites that I just KNEW wouldn’t have a useful discount or voucher code. In fact, I was sort of pleasantly surprised, because I located a few ‘bizrate.com’ links, which are links from a price directory / comparison site, whereby the website in question will collate lots of product information from different suppliers and present it to you in one easy to read format. Unfortunately, most of the links that advertised discount voucher codes were as expected – lies. The most promising, the shopping directory, asked me if I was in the UK or the USA. I could see they had loaded some sporto boots in the background already, WITH some discounts (but no discount codes, just discounts). Heartbreakingly, when I clicked UK, everything changed. The page reloaded and showed me, (wait for it), fishing equipment; namely a Viper Icon 3 Bait Boat. This ‘bait boat’ is most definitely not sporto boots, or a voucher code, or even a percentage off coupon or discount. If you (like me), have less than no idea what one of those is, here’s a picture for you. The only relation I can see between sporto boots, discount voucher codes and vipers is the website advertising nonexistent discounts! I’m referring to snakes, if you didn’t get the gist…

And so, upsettingly, that ended my only chance of finding real sporto boot discount voucher codes. I will continue (as always) to search and locate these boots, and share with you my findings as and when I advance!  If you find any discount voucher code sites with Sporto coupons on, please make sure you share them with us! I’ll credit you of course! Consequently then, rather than looking for sporto discount coupons, why not give Sporto Boots on eBay a try?
